Our Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Tina is originally from Western Ky, she is youngest of 8 children and moved to Missouri as a toddler. She lived most of her life in a house next to the Mississippi river levee near New Madrid, MO. As a sharecropper’s daughter, she learned how to chop cotton as a young teenager to buy clothes for school each year. Her Mother worked as a cook in a restaurant in New Madrid and Kewanee. Tina married her husband Brian, in 1988 and along with Tina’s two older children made their home in the Sikeston, Mo. area. They welcomed their son Richard to the family in 1990. Family is very important to Tina, as they relocated to Wickliffe, Ky in November 2021 to care for her last surviving sibling. You can find Tina at Victory Baptist Church on Hwy 121 outside of Wickliffe, Ky on every Sunday morning, Sunday night and every Wednesday evening service, worshiping and in fellowship with others where she is Co-chair of their Fellowship Committee. Her favorite thing to do aside from being in church is having her family gathered around, whether it is camping, riding ATV’s, or at home playing games, eating and enjoying each other’s company, especially the grandkids. Tina looks forward to her first great grandchild in March 2023, she is called Nana by them all ages 23 to 8 months.
Tina always knew she wanted to be a nurse, graduating LPN school in 1982 also obtaining an Associate’s Degree in Nursing and Licensed as a Registered Nurse in 1989. Her healthcare career has been multifaceted, having worked in the local hospital as a float nurse, Dialysis, Med Surg, Intensive care, Surgery, Pediatrics, just to name a few areas. She mastered every area of care, along with working in the nursing home as a Shift Supervisor 1982-1990 and Director of Nursing from 1990 to 1997. In 1997, she was credentialed as a Mental Health Nurse and started working for Horizon Mental Health Management opening a 10-bed geriatric psychiatric inpatient unit at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston. She remained the program director of this unit until 2009. Through her work at the hospital, she saw a need for an ethical high-quality in-home care company that could assist the elderly and disabled to remain safely in their own homes. Tina believes that families should be able to care for one another, enjoying their time together, without the stress of being the primary caregiver and all that it entails. In 2008, she and her daughter, Amanda, came together and started the process of applying to become a Missouri Medicaid In Home Care provider. And in February 2009, they were approved to open Caring Hands In Home Care LLC and began to accept clients. From 2009 to current times, Tina and Amanda have focused on building Caring Hands In Home Care LLC to be a family-oriented business. They opened their second location in, 2010 in Scott City, Mo. and moved that office to its new location in Cape Girardeau in 2022. From there they expanded their offices to Fredericktown in September 2018 and Perryville in January 2021 and have plans for future expansions. Their focus on the importance of treating their staff and clients like part of their own family has been the cornerstone of Caring Hands.
Amanda began her journey in health care in 2000 as a caregiver with a local in home care company. Her passion of assisting families in keeping their loved ones in their homes was what helped launch her career in nursing. In 2002, Amanda graduated from the Sikeston Public School Practical Nurse Program as an LPN. During her career Amanda
During her career Amanda has worked in various areas of nursing, many centered around caring the senior community. As a nurse, she has gathered experiences from working in local nursing homes to hospice care.
In 2009, after seeing the increasing need for home care, Amanda, along with her mother, Tina made the decision to open the first Caring Hands in Home Care office located in Matthews, MO. That decision would launch the incredible journey of building Caring Hands into a rapidly growing company with four current locations and future plans for expansions. In her current role as Chief Operating Officer for Caring Hands her responsibilities are varied and include overseeing day-to-day business operations to doing face-to-face health evaluations with our clients.
Amanda grew up in the Sikeston/Matthews Missouri area and says even as a young girl it was her dream to be nurse and make a difference in the lives of people in her community. She married her husband Shane in 1998 and together they have two sons, Zachary and Jacob. Over the years they also opened their home as foster parents to several children. It’s fair to say that their compassion and care has touched the lives of many. Their sons have since become adults and with Jacob following in their footsteps by marrying his high school sweetheart, Kaitlin. Jacob and Kaitlin added daughter Evelyn to the family in 2023. Amanda is always on the go and enjoys watching sports, going on cruises, and traveling with her family.

Meet our Director of Nursing, Haleigh Hequembourg , RN-BSN.
Since childhood, Haleigh always knew that becoming a nurse was her calling profession. Growing up witnessing her grandmother Cathy, a nurse of 50+ years, she was driven by example to obtain a lifelong career that called for a servant’s heart.
Haleigh is an East Prairie native and Class of 2013 graduate. Following High School graduation, Haleigh was accepted into Southeast Missouri State University, where she would begin her journey to becoming a nurse. In 2015, Haleigh was accepted into the Sikeston R6 Practical Nurse Program, where she would then graduate and “officially” become a nurse in 2016. Haleigh then immediately was accepted into Southeast College of Nursing and Health Sciences, where she graduated and thus gained her Associates in Nursing in 2018. Haleigh then circled back around to Southeast Missouri State University in 2019, where she then graduated with her Bachelors in Nursing.
Haleigh began her work as a nurse in 2018 at Saint Francis Medical Center. There, she worked as a Medical Surgical Nurse until 2019, where she then was offered a position at Caring Hands In-Home Care. Since joining Caring Hands, Haleigh has worn many hats and had many titles within the company. She started as a Private Duty Nurse, then quickly worked her way up the ladder into management of both Caring Hands’ In-Home Nursing and Private Duty Nursing programs. In addition to management in said areas, Haleigh assists and directs with all competency trainings for Advanced Personal Care and the Department of Mental Health, and instructs CPR – both BLS and HeartSaver trainings through the American Heart Association.
Although Haleigh is constantly on-the-go, she has a full plate and a plethora of friends and family that she enjoys spending all her spare time with. In May of 2022, she became engaged to Finley Hequembourg at their most favorite place (Kentucky Lake) – they married in September 2023. Haleigh and Finley share two dogs named Waylon and Maggie. In January 2023, Haleigh gained the title “aunt” to a precious baby boy named Channing. Her heart and hands are always full, she says, “I wouldn’t trade this life for nothing!”.
